Economy at the Bus Station

After a total of 11 1/2 hours of waiting around for the next bus to come in, I finally got it: The economy sucks.

I've always been able to walk into the local greyhound office , buy a ticket about 40-30 minutes in advance and then hop on the next bus leaving Columbia or KC. Last Friday was a reality check. I came to the local station in my typical hurried fashion ready to buy my ticket and wait, only to be told that not only is the incoming bus full ( and late) but that their are already people in front of me waiting for an opening. Damn...

Luckily 15 minutes of waiting, overhearing an awkward conversation and casual flirting later, I got on the bus.

Fast-forward to Sunday.

Same routine, worse outcome. I get to the KC station to find out that the bus is again full and this time there are 15 people ahead of me and instead of 15 minutes, I have an 11 hour wait and the ticket person is a female.
Double Damn...

Though the moral of the story should be to plan ahead it is not, because that would make all of this my own fault and that just wont do. Fact of the matter is there are too many people opting for the bus instead of flying because of the crappy economy.

Economy, get well soon. Cause whatever illness you've got is kicking my ass too.

In the beginning

As my first official post, I feel it is necessary to point out that this blog is basically an elongated comment.

I read a small variety ( oxy-moronish?) of black blogs, check out the I Follow section, and when they spark something that requires a response of more than a few sentences, I will post them here.

Once in a while, this blog will turn into a "What I saw Today" or "What is Wrong/Right With the World" piece but it is by no means a professional outlet.
